Not even in the rear view mirror for 'Iron Man,' the week's most hyped new release, 'Speed Racer,' wasn't even the most seen new release on Friday night, as the new Wachowski Brothers movie failed to overtake even 'What Happens in Vegas...'

I have a confession to make, I don’t know jack about Speed Racer. I’ve seen clips of the cartoon here and there but I’ve never had the desire to sit down to watch a full episode. This weekend The Wachowski brothers are unleashing their live action vision of Speed Racer and I am left wondering, is this really a big deal?

The official Closing Night Gala of the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival was the World Premiere of "Speed Racer," brothers Larry and Andy Wachowski's long-awaited big screen adaptation of the classic 60s cartoon. Directing from their own script, The Wachowski Brothers have crafted a mind-numbing, stomach-turning experience.
